The 420gsm fabric is heavy for a cover this size. It keeps water out, lets condensation through, and is mildew resistant. A 2 year UV warranty backs the UV-resistant coating.
A table cover comes on and off more often than any other cover you own. Heavy fabric is what holds its shape through all that handling.
