Use it when you replace the rope seal on a wood heater, a stove or a fireplace. It goes on during the rope install and holds once the fire is running again.
It is rated up to 1200 degrees C and withstands thermal shock, so it copes with heating up and cooling down day after day. There is no asbestos in it.
