That is what the Napoleon stainless steel grid scraper is for. It is made for stainless steel cooking grids and gives you the leverage to lift stuck on residue that a brush skates straight over.
The head is double sided, so it handles different grid sizes without swapping tools. The handle is shaped for grip and there is a hanging loop on the end, which keeps the scraper with the barbecue instead of in a kitchen drawer.
Use it as part of the clean down after a cook, while the job is still an easy one.
