The probe goes into the meat and connects back to the main unit by braided wire. The digital display lifts off the base so you can carry it with you, and a clip holds it to your clothes or an apron. Readings reach you from a distance, so you are not standing at the barbecue the whole time.
The temperature probe is durable stainless steel. The controls are simple to use and the display reads in English, Spanish, French or German.
Useful for a steak you want at a set doneness, and more useful again on the long roasts where timing matters.
